Culturally, Indians are some of the hardest-working people on this planet. This combined with the extreme population density and low wages has been driving ambitious young Indians out of their country for decades.
Unfortunately, the Indian passport is very weak and lacks many Visa-free options. It is for this reason that many Indian citizens seek an alternative passport.
Just to clarify, India does not technically allow dual citizenship, but rather an Overseas Citizen of India Card (OCI). This card allows people of Indian origin and their spouses to live and work in India indefinitely. This means that Indian nationals who receive another passport can no longer hold an official Indian Passport, but are entitled to an OCI Card.
How most Indians sacrifice financial wealth and freedom to gain a second passport
Because of the high number of Indian Nationals residing outside of India, many Indians opt for a more traditional boots-on-the-ground option towards citizenship. This usually requires many years of studies both within and outside of India to obtain some sort of sought-after Engineer or Doctorate Status. After obtaining the necessary qualifications, these highly skilled usually move to a high-tax first-world country (such as the USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, UK, etc.) and spend a decade or more paying outlandishly high taxes to work their way to a better travel document.

How can I obtain a second passport faster and easier?
When it comes to obtaining a second passport for Indian nationals in a cost-effective and timely manner, I usually recommend one of the following programs.
Nicaragua Golden Visa

This program is open to all nationalities. Purchase a government-authorized plot of land populated with teak trees. Purchasing this government-approved investment will get you a title to the land and a great return on your initial investment. The base cost of this program is USD 30,000.
After submitting your initial application, you will receive your permanent residency approximately 90 days later. The important thing in this program is that you can receive permanent residence from day one.
After being a Permanent resident for your years, one is entitled to Nicaraguan Citizenship. Please note that 12 months of physical presence is required to receive Nicaraguan citizenship.
With this travel document, one can visit the EU and the Schengen region visa-free. A great investment option for Indian nationals interested in a second citizenship.
Caribbean Citizenship by Investment

Looking to become a citizen of another country without relocating or leaving your home country? If so, Caribbean Citizenship by Investment Programs (CBIs) is the way to go.
Citizenship of the following five countries is being currently offered, St. Kitts and Nevis, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and Antigua and Barbuda.
While these programs require no residency period and a formal visit to the country for application purposes, they do require a higher payment amount. These programs range in price from 100-150k USD without fees.
Despite the higher cost, the simplicity of these programs makes it easy for Indian Nationals to obtain a Passport from one of these beautiful Caribbean nations, providing they have adequate capital for the required investment. If you are an Indian national looking for visa-free access to the EU, then this could be a potential option.
Mexico Temporary Residency Visa

One can obtain a temporary residence permit in Mexico by providing a bank statement certifying over USD 27,000 in the past year, or by proving a monthly income over USD 1,620.
This permit is usually issued for one year, but it is renewable for an additional three years. After four years of holding a Mexican temporary residence permit, one is eligible for Mexican permanent residency.
After obtaining permanent residency and residing in Mexico for over one year, the permit holders are entitled to Mexican citizenship. Keep in mind that to receive Mexican citizenship. One must have Spanish language skills and pass a test about Mexican history, culture, and values. If you are looking for a tier-B Passport that has access to the EU, then Mexico could be an option for you.
